Product details
Author: Assad, Sergio
Format: Import
Release Date: 17-07-2001
Details: Sought as collaborators by such artists as Dawn Upshaw, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg and Yo-Yo Ma, the Brazilian guitar duo of Sergio and Odair Assad are known to aficionados as players of astonishing virtuosity and enormous soul - two qualities which serve them well in the complex yet emotionally direct music of Argentinian Nuevo Tango master Astor Piazzolla. Longtime Nonesuch recording artists, as well as friends of the composer in the years prior to his death, the Assads perform such Piazzolla classics as the "Tango Suite" and "Suite Troileana" on their new album. The brothers capture the venerable composer's trademark bristling rhythms and sweeping melodies with grace and passion.
