Journal d'un coopérant est le premier film québécois (et peut-être mondial) que l'on pourrait qualifier d'expérience participative avec des internautes. C'est en tout cas un étonnant croisement entre cinéma de fiction et journal internet. D'abord tourné au Burundi cet été, Journal d'un coopérant a ensuite été montré sur internet sous forme de capsules. Alors, les blogueurs étaient invités à soumettre au réalisateur des commentaires et suggestions, altérant potentiellement le cours des événements du film. Cette démarche novatrice n'a rien de vraiment étonnant quand on connaît la filmographie particulièrement hors norme de Robert Morin, un réalisateur résolument à l'avant-garde du cinéma québécois.
